Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and had a nice rustic, cozy, mountain feel. Our room had a private screen porch with hot tub and mountain views. Didn't try the hot tub, but enjoyed reading on the rocking chairs on the porch. Views of the mountains from the inn were lovely! Food was delicious! Love the afternoon cookies and evening cheese & wine on the weekends. Very close to fort mountain park for hiking and outdoor activities. Downtown Elijay with shops and restaurants is a relatively short drive down winding, paved roads. Overall a great place for a relaxing weekend stay.

Breakfast each morning was to die for delicious and because we were the only ones at the Inn, she allowed us to choose our own breakfast time! The breakfast was SO extensive you really do have to pace yourself or else you couldn't possibly finish it all!! Everything is fresh and local and prepared with such love and care for different flavor combinations!! Breakfast was a true culinary delight!!
My husband and I were there for our mini-moon and the room itself and entire Inn couldn't have been better!!! We stayed in the Grand Gahuti and the room is magnificent!! A SUPER comfortable beautiful bed with curtains all around, a beautiful antique, working wood stove, in room fridge and coffee, and of course a wonderful porch with a view and a hot tub!! The bathroom was very nice and I was super excited about the bathroom kit which included: makeup removing wipes, q-tips, makeup pads, and even a wildflower bath mix package!!
Had a lovely stay at The Overlook Inn! Went for a quick overnight to north Georgia. Our plan was to hike in Fort Mountain State Park which was very close and convenient. The innkeeper accommodated our last minute reservation. We had wine and cheese to greet us and dessert standing by after our dinner out in Blue Ridge. The Moon Eye room was perfect. Beautiful, comfortable and had all of the necessary amenities. Enjoyed sipping wine on our private screen porch and a quick dip in the hot tub before bed. I was very impressed with the well kept property and the quality of service and food. We'll definitely be back!
We were surprised with a champagne, roses, candles, and strawberry package and when we walked in to the room, it was just breathtaking!! There were candles everywhere and rose petals strewn throughout the room as well as a beautiful big heart of rose petals on our bed!! I would recommend the Overlook Inn to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing, romantic vacation with the sweetest innkeepers ever!!! We truly couldn't have had a more special, wonderful mini-moon and cannot wait to be back at the Overlook Inn with Mrs. Lynn, Mike, Dexter, & Charlie!!
I travel a lot and have probably stayed in over 100 bed and breakfast and never had a experience like I did at this one. Basically the Innkeeper was so rude and crazy acting we left before ever checking in. Being a Doctor for the past 30 plus years And dealing with patients everyday I have never treated a patient as she treated us a customers. Definitely she is not a southerner and has NO southern hospitality! (Standing outside in the sun she even ask my husband to take off his sunglasses so she could see his eyes while she was talking to him) WEIRD
I cannot describe enough how fabulous our stay at the Overlook Inn was!!! We were originally booked for two nights, but loved it so much we asked to stay another night and Mrs. Lynn immediately jumped into action and got us all set for another night!! Mrs. Lynn is absolutely fabulous!! She is so sweet and accommodating and her spirit is just lovely!!! Her dining suggestions for dinner were all on point and she even made our reservations for us so we literally had to worry about nothing!
Mrs. Lynn also set up a private wine and cheese tasting for us and allowed us to choose our own wine selection, which was so fun and so yummy!! The local cheese was SPECTACULAR and the view from the dining room, where we ate breakfast and chose to sit for our wine and cheese tasting, is absolutely stunning!!
