Awesome place, you need to add this place to your Georgia bucket list. You will need drive a vehicle with high clearance and maybe 4wd.
Nice little campsite. Takes a while to drive to, but that makes it very isolated and quiet, which is desirable.
Its a really fun place for those not afraid of an adventure. The bathroom light needs repair, but other than that the place is great. The low tech answer for those afraid is called a flashlight. You should probably bring one of those since you are "camping". As for those critical of its lack of creature comforts, why are you camping? Maybe you should rent a cabin somewhere. Kids love the place because its basic outdoor fun. You can swim in the lake, teach your kids to fish, maybe take a nice nature walk. The best part is you can make memories that will last forever. Try it out and you will see.
We went here last weekend with out 6 month year old and loved it- beautiful lake, relatively secluded camp sites, and easy to access trails. We brought our paddle board and enjoyed paddling around the lake. Even though the campsites were almost entirely full it didn't feel overcrowded. A great spot!
